Blood

Emotions like rain
Can swell to a flood
And fear is the same
It sometimes draws blood

It’s a fluid that flows
Through everyone’s veins
It shows us we’re one
Despite all our names

Nothing’s worth fighting over
Not religion or race
Can’t you see that division and hatred
Will only lead to more pain?

It runs through our hearts
It’s what we’re made of
If we’d only realize
That we are all blood

We’re not all that different
We’re from the same source
When we harm each other
It only ends in remorse

We all have our scars
And anger cuts deep
When one of us suffers
Every single one of us bleeds

Repeat Chorus

We are not alone
We all need each other
We are not alone
We’re sisters and brothers

If love the answer
When love is the answer
They’ll be no more blood
