Photograph

Sleepy now, its 2 am
The sirens flash
An ambulance
I say a prayer
And just pretend
That you’re not gone

Waking up, half past 5
The TV says
I’m still alive
Waste away
I can’t escape
The ghost of you

And no more living in a photograph
Never thought I’d see you laugh again
I need you

Church bells ring on Sunday morn
The winter chill
Is in my bones
Another day
The same four walls
That cage me in

I stare outside at
The frozen lawn
Fading green
From dusk til dawn
Just like your love that’s come and gone
Once again

And no more living in a photograph
Never thought I’d see you laugh again
I need you
